NAKED.

So I shaved off my beard
And it was weird
How much I feared
Freeing
My chin to leer at me,
As it had been
More than two years
Since I last sheared it
And I’ve steered
A varied
Course since my skin last appeared,
And I expected tears.
But once cleared
Of fluff I was cheered
By the realness
Of its features,
And their agreeable
Endearments,
As they were not smeared
Across the sphere
Of my face or bleared
By time’s gears,
But adhered
To better engineering
Than I thought me
Capable of seeing.
